Indeed, implementing these changes should be trivial (it's only reordering of
the temp variables on stack, IIRC), but I had forgotten about it completely.
I'll try to import these changes into CVS today.

The new P4 core was already imported into CVS and is just waiting for a new
client release.

Yes, we are actively working on that.
Regarding release dates, it's hard to say -- we usually allow a few
improvements and bugfixes to add up before releasing new versions. But rest
assured that the new P6/P7 cores will show up in future versions.
